Rose, iris, honeysuckle… Looking at the long list of flower names in the fragrance table, are you curious about their real fragrance?
When you are deeply fascinated by a real floral fragrance in nature, do you want to know which perfume can truly capture its soul? As a gardener and a perfumer, I’m probably the best person to answer these questions.
Falling into the “fragrant pit” for 15 years, I have collected nearly 500 perfumes so far, and my garden is about to turn 10 years old. There are more than 200 kinds of plants, many many roses, many many irises and Lily of the valley…I have planted all the plants mentioned in this article, some of them have died because of the weather, but most of them are still thriving in my garden.
Are the two hobbies related to each other? Absolutely. Every plant has its own unique scent, and whenever a new and wonderful scent bursts into the nostrils, there is always the urge to collect it and put it in a perfume bottle.
I also enjoy this moment – get a brand new bottle of perfume, experience its beginnings and turns, and suddenly, a familiar floral fragrance emerges, which was planted in spring XXX! People can’t always carry a garden with them, but spraying on such a perfume, no matter where I am and close my eyes, its smell can instantly pull me back to my garden, the gentle village I created.
